Mobile Application Appreciation

Today mobile apps are common place, if you have a smart phone you have an app, or at least you do it you know how to use your smart phone. I use several on a daily basis, apps for social media, apps for looking up information, even apps for reading internet articles. Most apps are easy to use and in most cases faster than using a website.

Today in our PR class we were asked to blog about a specific app that we use on a regular basis, think was well made, and generally like. The app that I'm choosing to write about is my CIBC banking app. It literally revolutionized how I do my banking.

I used to find online banking a bit of a pain. You have to find a computer, then you have to get out your bank card, but wait I forgot my wallet down stairs. Opps, well now I have to go get it. well I guess your home computer can remember you bank card number. Okay, well, it's probably not that bad, but if you have your wallet and you're out you still have to open your wallet and take out the card. And maybe I'm just lazy, but I'd much rather take out my phone tap my CIBC app, oh and look, it remembered my card number. That little bit of convenience makes the world of a difference to me.

And the app can do all my banking. All of it. Well, almost all of it, but I'll get to that in a minute. I can check my balances, pay my bills, transfer money between accounts and even send money to other people via, email bank transfers. It's so sweet. so back to the think I can't do, and it might just be because I have yet to figure it out. If you set up automatic transfers, like a monthly one from a chequings to a savings account, you can't edit or end those transfers with the app. And, as nice as it would be to be able to do that, it's not that bad that you can't. who knows maybe they'll fix it in an update.
