Video Montage

I’m going to be filming my video montage this weekend, I’m pretty sure it’s all figured out at this point. I’ve gone through a few different concept ideas.

My first concept was a video set to ZZ Top’s song Beer Drinkers and Hell Raisers. The basic concept was that I would film some children, most likely my niece and nephew riding on their bikes around.

My second concept was going to be set to the Al Green song Love And Happiness. For that I wanted to film different couples going though the range of emotion that can come from a relationship. Things like flirting or acting in love, or fighting. I still really like the idea, but I couldn’t find anyone willing to act in it. So the idea fell though.

My third concept is sort of still a work in progress, as far as the footage goes I’m going to be going out of town to do the filming. Probably to the cottage or my mom’s place. The basic plan is to get shots of things happening in nature, like animals or ice breaking up on a creek. If I go with the more generic idea, I’ll use the song Sweet Thing by Van Morrison. But I might focus on trees and get shots of different trees young and old and if I do that I’ll probably set it to The Beach Boys’ song A Day In The Life Of A Tree. Whichever way it goes will probably be determined in the editing stage.
